| That is wierd. Because I cant even tell that there is a spool in the back of my Jeep turning sharp corners on pavement. What kind of tires are you running? I know when we had BFG's it was pretty bad because the tires were so much stiffer they would grab the pavement and do some wierd jerks/chirps... But with the boggers it is perfect feeling. For the reliability, and strength you cant beat a spool. |

Down shifting from 4 to three (and so on) is hard because I can't match the RPM. Can't use engine breaking for a certain range. I can't match the RPMS because of the rev limiter, and without matching the RPMs it sounds a whole lot worse than a meat grinder... I guess right before I swap out the transmission I'll teach myself to shift without using the clutch at all. |

Water in the tranny is common on the AX5/AX15 since they were so smart and put the breather on the shift stub. I run Chevron 15w30 most of the time in the 4popper, synthetic in the AX5 (bought it from Northern out of the pail they use), ATF (not too picky here) for the tcase, and plain ol dino juice in the diffs. I have not had any problems with contamination in the diffs, but during wheeling season it get changed fairly often as a CYA. One thing that has not been touched on much in this thread is grease. This is one that I get the near daily pleasure of seeing what happens when you dont use it. I use and Chevron Ultra Duty EP #2 for ujoints, ball joints, steering and most chassis lube points. |

| I think asking a question like that is somewhat pointless cause almost everyone would like to believe that they are "hard" enough to hold out and not give in to the captures but when it comes down to it everyone has their breaking point and I don't honestly think anyone could say what they would do until it happened. I am of course speaking of once you are already captured because I would fully expect anyone with a weapon to fight until they no longer had the means to do so. It might sound drastic but I would consider leaving one in the chamber for myself in the event I knew I would be captured, I wouldn't want to take the chance of giving them the satisfaction of torturing me. And as far as the "if the hostages didn't go quietly" I think it would be foolish to fight them if you had any hope of ever going back to your family, if they already had you captured and you fought back they would most likely shoot you where you stand. And if you didn't have any hope of ever seeing your family again then I would say don't let them take you prisoner, again I know it sounds harsh but I would rather take a 9mm in the head and be done then live as their captive until they decided to saw my head off with a dull knife |
