I just don't see why everything has to end up in a pissing match. We all have our opinions on what kind of 4x4 we like, and I know that if we all had the resources like Brook we'd be driving steller tube buggies on the trail. But we don't, so we all do the best we can with the rigs we have and try to enjoy the times we go out with our friends and family. That's what it should be about. I've got a couple of buddies running them, and for the most part they don't use it anyway. But once in awhile they are able to walk over things I have to thrash a bit to get past. Just depends on how much money you want to spend, and what type of terrain you wheel in that will make it really worth it or not. Personally I like the idea of having two separate low ranges to choose from. Gives you more options, and that's always better. In the mean time, yeah, the 205 in place of the 208 is a great upgrade in strength. Plus it'll give you a longer rear driveline and better angle because of it. You'll lose a little in gearing, but the extra strength is worth it IMO. Eric |

Actually it does matter, especially with turbos. Turbo's work on the pressure differential between the high pressure side (exhaust manifold) and the low pressure side (exhaust system, pipe, etc). The higher the difference, the better the turbo will work. Basically the lowest possible amount of back pressure, the better. So, were the bend is made without a mandrel, the flow is restricted somewhat, creating more back pressure. |

| Not a problem...the 5" skyjackers are working for now. The allpro's are better and will move the axle foward even more. But to do that I have to get my highsteer on, and to run highsteer I need to find a 7m turbo oil pan so I dont have that issue to deal with. Front will end up linked anyhow just not sure how soon. I'm running 2.5" backspacing and 1.5" spacers and I'm not close to my leafs. |

(friend well now x friend has a nice sled and id only riddin it around his house) so we loaded up and headed out. we get to the turn off and on to the road to go to hatchers. i had never been there so did not know what to expect. ask my friends if i should got grap some cheap tires chais, they said naw you wont need them. well as we are climing the road becomes snow pack then slick ass ice. i wasnt sliping to bad but a little. i was kinda geting scared now cuz i have about 15k worth of sleds and a trailor be hind me that aint mine. so im coming up this hill and at the top is a 90* turn. all of the sudden i see a older blue doge hauling ass and misses the corner and off into the trees he goes. so i stop and we are running into the trees to make sure every one is ok. i should never stoped were i did because no one could see my truck. im maybe 3 steps into the bushes and i hear F**K LOOK OUT, i turn and see a f350 miss my truck by maybe 2 inches not joking at all. goes into the bushes and some how gets it back on the road. so after that we find out ever one is ok in the doge and the kids dad pulls him out. (this kid was maybe and inche from hiting a tree that was about 6ft around) so we go on out way. im scared shit less now. we get to the parking lot and unload. its a balming -18. so we take off and head for the mine (on snow mobiles)we get to the last parking lot before the mine and stop to pick up a friend so he could got snowboard. we get ready to head out to the mine and my friends sled wont move the trak just wont move (we later found our that my fat arse and his did a number on the hifax and they froze the the track) we were loosing day light fast and it was colder. so i had to ride back with another friend and get my truck then drive back and get my other friends sled and push it onto the trailor. now i have the dreaded drive back. took me about an hour to get to the main road. and it was so cold that my thermistat(sp?)kept opening and closing so my temp would come way up then go down..... we all made it how safe but i foud out later that it was 35 below around the time we left. i really thought that i was going to be in the news paper being a missing person then they find me frozen stiff. damn that would suck\n\n| Quote (sevenslats @ April 06 2004,02:20) |

Im on my 5th or so run, doing real well with my dial in for a change, Im running against a General Lee Charger copy. Of course my friends are raggin that that 440 is just going to crunch my time right, well we both get a good jump on green, as I go from 3-4 gear, my front end picked up just enough to let me move my front tires slightly, when the front end remade contact with asfault (sp). I lost control of the car, I estimated (4 days later when I woke up) I was running near 120mph (mind you in high school its a 1/2 mile stretch). The video footage showed me hit and bounce off the rebar enforced barrier wall 8-9 times. The pictures my mom took after she picked the camera up were of my helmet being split from visor to neck brace. Iguess from what everyone said was if it wernt for the cage there wouldnt be much left of me today. Thanks dad for insisting on it. This is by far the closest I came to death. There are only 2 clubs in Anchorage even worth the time(Only cause I only know of 2). Alaska Extreme and Last Frontier 4 wheelers. If your looking to do more of the community stuff(Park clean-ups, Parades, being in public view, etc.) go with AKX. They are a much bigger club, if your looking for that big club atmesphere, they are the way to go. If your looking for a more low Key smaller club, I would suggest Last Frontier 4 wheelers. Not into being in public view or all that, they may be a better choice. Every rig in the club is built, so you wont get into that whole mines bigger then yours. Both clubs do the wheelin camping, BBQ, thing. LF4W isn't so much into the beer drinking thing, Allowing it only when at camp for the night. I'm Secratary of Last Frontier 4 Wheelers so I'm partial to them. Our next meeting is April 20, 7 PM, at Wayne's BBQ. Your more then welcome to come to a meeting at meet everyone in the club. I also suggest that you go to a AKX meeting and meet everyone in that club as well. Between the 2 clubs you will find a good fit for yourself. Contact Kurt (Badco) about meeting times for them. |

I have two down braces going to the top of the stock crossmember (that will be gusseted as well) The two lower most mounts go to the area where the frame rails tie into the crossmember and I plated the whole area. I'm also going to run a gusset from that point over the top of the frame rail and back about 3".
