Its quite a ways back down below the factory gear/tire match. When doing about 65 the speedo reads around 80, 85. 4.88's was what i wanted, but no one makes them for the 8.25 rear. But after getting used to the 4.56's, i'm pretty happy with them. And you know im on 35's. Im trying for 38 to 40" when i find some axles, and I think ill pass up the 4.88's all together and head towards 5.13s. But not untill those bigass meats are under there. | MTRs suck in AK. Personal opinion, never ran them myself, just seen a few. BFG ATs are just that. AT. Not gonna perform well on a trail. BFG MTs are a decent choice. Not gonna be friendly on the ice. Stick with the ATs or have them siped. My suggestion: Interco TruXs MT. Good MT pattern (not as aggressive as a TSL) and factory siping. soft rubber for rocks, siping for snow/ice, good/fair cleanout in mud. and a decent price through KORE. | I think the MT/Rs are a fine choice for aDD. I ran the 33s up here for quite a while and did just fine. When comparing the 33s and 35s to 33 LTBs and TRXus tires the lugs are very comparablea and ride way better on the road. You will get the most milage out of the MT/Rs as well. BTW, everyone who sevenslats has wheeled with up here has out-wheeled him six was to sunday on their MT/Rs. I drug his previously near stock TJ over waist deep snow drifts with my MT/Rs. I also crawled up an icy, 1/4 mile grade he was winched up with his TRXs; I was on the 33 TM/Rs then too. Maybe he forgot about that. MT/Rs are a fine choice for a DD; they are extremely versitile. Just depends on how far you have to drive. I'm happy with boggers on my dd, but my daily drive is under 2 miles. |
